Client Challenge:
A client was unexpectedly faced with the need for substantial retaining walls after the excavation for their house pad, an aspect not initially factored into their plans. The challenge was to find a retaining solution that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional, without hindering the ongoing construction timeline.
Our Solution:
After evaluating various options, Australian Retaining Walls recommended a "B Grade" cut sandstone boulder wall, known for its sawn, uniform appearance that the client preferred over random boulders. Our team coordinated the design, liaised with the builders, and navigated the certification process swiftly to prevent any delays to the construction schedule.
Outcome:
The construction of the sandstone boulder wall, measuring approximately 3.5 meters in height and 18 meters in length, was expedited thanks to the use of an 8-ton excavator with a rock grab attachment. This efficient approach allowed for rapid installation, much to the satisfaction of both the client and the builder, and beautifully complemented the residential property's aesthetic.
